I have a x86 pentium 4 dell that I’m going to use to host a small site on a static ip, nothing big. I can’t use anything bigger than 2003 microsoft-wise due to the system. I have a valid server 2003 license as a student, so cost isn’t an issue. I’m just wondering on such a crappy machine if I would gain any benefit from another OS. I will be installing php and mysql, nothing else and as soon as the traffic substantiates a better system, I’ll move it to a real server.
